The post-independence era underlined the need for education-led growth of the economy in India. Continuing its journey of establishing educational institutions, Vidya Bhavan Trust, established the Navgujarat Law College in 1966. Later in 1995, the institution was rechristened to Daulatbhai Trivedi Law College.
The then honourable former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court AM Ahmadi (1994-1997) remained present as the chief guest at the rechristening ceremony of the revered institution.
A grant-in-aid college affiliated with Gujarat University, the institution has over four decades of legacy of honing and developing competent, ethical, and socially responsible law professionals.
The college offers a three-year LL. B programme, supported by a comprehensive curriculum, experienced faculty, and a conducive learning environment providing the right blend of practical skills and theoretical knowledge. Students can specialise in streams like Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, and Corporate Law, among others.

Students of DT Law College have bagged laurels with excellent academic performance at the university level and won gold medals too.
Daulatbhai Trivedi Law College has a very fair and transparent admissions policy that admits students purely based on merit and in line with the government’s policy on reservation. There is no admission made through management quota.
Time and again, the institution forges meaningful collaborations with legal professionals and institutions alike, to provide students with insights into current legal practices and create a dynamic learning environment that is relevant to changing times. The institution prides itself for fostering a culture of academic excellence, encouraging research initiatives, and promoting student participation in extracurricular activities.
